Academic Dishonesty Policy
Cheating and plagiarism are unacceptable behaviors. Academic Dishonesty
Academic dishonesty is the act of the following actions:
1) Cheating on homework, quizzes, tests or any graded material
2) Submitting another person’s work
3) Allowing another student to use or submit your work
4) Collaboration with other students unless it has been approved by the instructor
5) Knowingly and intentionally assisting another student in any of the above actions.
6) Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of presenting ideas, words, or organization of a source, published or not, as if it were one’s own. All quoted material must be in quotation marks, and all paraphrases, quotations, significant ideas, and organizations must be acknowledged by some form of documentation acceptable to the instructor of the course. Plagiarism also includes allowing another student to use or alter or revise the work that a student submits as the student’s own. The use of the term “work” refers to work in any form including written, oral and electronic.
All students who are caught cheating will be given a zero for the assignment, test or quiz they have cheated on. The zero may result in a failing grade for the course and the student needing to retake the class. Administration may contact the parents of those involved.
